    Weighing In On False Lashes

When it comes to false lashes, here are a few things to consider: Adhesive lashes - false lashes with liquid, latex adhesives. lightweight re-usable and disposable daily Once they are on, you want to leave them on. Can have a tendency to lift if they get wet or the glue is not holding up various adhesives can take some trial and error depending on skill, skin allergies. The glue adheres to the base of your lashes and skin. This does not damage or make your natural lashes fall

    Microblading Aftercare

Microblading aftercare basic tips: Within the first 7-10 days of microblading be sure to keep the area clean, which can get a little tricky especially when you are not supposed to get the treated area wet. One suggestion would be to use the make-up eraser ( I like the super tiny travel ones) cool water, wring out make-up eraser so it's moist, use the gentle side (it has an exfoliating side) and gently pat or dab the area clean. If you need a cleanser, use the tiniest amount

    Summer Glam

Here's one of my beautiful Make-Up clients...She went through some very long and drawn out skin issues for a couple years which left her getting in the habit of not wearing make-up again. So, I did a light and natural bronze toned make-up on her where I focused on bringing out her gorgeous eyes and brows. I used the Armani Silk foundation and I mixed in a liquid shimmer then I filled in her brows with a liquid tattoo make-up. I used all shimmer earth toned eyeshadows, then

    Puffy Eyes...

I've been asked several times a week now about out how to help reduce eye puffiness. One of my clients told me that she just heard about using Preparation H (as if that was a new thing). Well, I chuckled and said yes, that is is definitely 'old school.' When I finally got into Hollywood as a Make-up Artist I found out this was true, my fellow Make-up Artists (especially the ones who had decades of experience) they said it worked, but they would hide the label on the tube b

    Tweezers Dude

I'm going to get right to the 'point.' Working alongside my fellow Make-up Artists in TV & Film they always used Tweezerman tweezers, it is like referring to coffee as 'Starbucks.' They work the best! I'll never forget being in the make-up trailer and one of the other Make-up Artists said who wants me to send their tweezers in to get sharpened?....they explained to me that you simply mail them in to Tweezerman and they send them back to you! https://www.tweezerman.com/fr

    Permanent Make-up

Why does your semi-permanent eyebrow make-up fade? If you do everything right in taking care of your microbladed eyebrows, but they seem to still fade quickly. Many people, especially living in 'sunny' Southern California, do not realize how much the sun will cause your semi-permanent make-up to fade over a short period of time. Sunscreen Sun Hat Large Sunglasses (cover your eyebrows) Umbrella As impossible as it would be to stay out of the sun, it's important to take extra

    Brow Stencils

Brow Stencils Defined Do you struggle with drawing and/or trying to fill-in your eyebrows? One way you can do it yourself, is to try using a stencil that you can place on your brow area and fill it in using a pencil, cream brow color or eyebrow mascara. The stencil will help you create a defined shape and all you have to do is find the correct placement for you and fill it in. #makemup #makemupoc #eyebrows #eyebrowstencils #eyebrowmakeup #mua #promakeupartist #eyebrowtips

    Best Lip Balm

One of my fellow Make-Up Artist friends, Julie Hewett created this amazing Camellia Balm that is truly bomb-tastic! It's lightweight, can be used to heal chapped lips and skin. When I've used it on actors who have severely chapped lips, over a short period of time it actually healed their dry chapped lips and the fresh, natural scent from the essential oils also helps brighten peoples mood. Unlike artificial scents this aroma is fresh and goes away, leaving your lips and s

    Over Plucking Eyebrows...

This would be a great reference for a character and/or period make-up look, but not a good look for today. Are you one of those people who over-plucked your eyebrows and they never grew back? Then microblading along with microshading might be the perfect solution for you. Combining microblading and shading can help fill-in the brow shape and size, leaving you with a fuller, softer eyebrow that will frame your face and help balance out with your eyes. Taking into account y

    All About The Eyes

When it comes to make-up, usually people first think about the eyes. The eyes are generally the most expressive part of the face. Let's take a look at why...You have the eyebrows, eyelids, eyelashes. The most amount of small features across your face that are all part of the eyes. Your eyebrows frame your face, next to your hair style. There is so much expression connected with your eyebrows, the shape, color, amount of brow hair, how they move when you move your forehead

    Shows I've worked on...

People often ask me what are my favorite shows to work on. What comes to mind is always any type of comedy. Glee - My first day working on the show was the Britney Spears episode. What's not to love about that? Up All Night - with Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph. This was a dream gig for sure, I mean come on now, this dynamic comedic duo and the cast, guest stars was a home-run for me. In-between scenes there was always music being played on stage (like a DJ was on-set

When your lipstick breaks, save it by putting it into a pill box. Next, you'll want to get a retractable lip brush instead of using your fingers to apply your lipstick. #makemupoc #makemup #pillboxforlipstick #brokenlipstick #pillbox #retractablelipbrush #makeuprescue #makeupRx #savemylipstick #makeuporganizer #pmua #makeupartistoc

    Storing False Eyelashes

People often ask if you can re-use false eyelash strips, and the answer is, yes. Remove your false eyelashes before going to bed. Gently peel off the glue with your fingers, then place them in a clean container that will help maintain their shape. I use tweezers to gently handle them in an effort to maintain their shape. #makemup #makemupoc #falseeyelashes #falselashes #pillbox #eyelashcase #tvmakeupartist #makeupartistOC #makeuporganizer #cleaneyelashes #pmua #lashtweezers

    Powder or Blot Papers...

Why blot papers? We use blot papers and/or powder to take down shine on our actors. Blot papers are helpful in taking down shine without adding make-up building up by constantly applying powder. One of the favorite blot paper brands we would use is the Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Oil Sheets, these are easier to handle because they are more like little rubbery sheets instead of the thin papers. #makemup #makemupoc #blotpapers #blotsheets #tvmakeup #TVMU #pormakeuptips #clea

    Hand Sanitizer

EBA Performance Make-up hand sanitizer As far as hand sanitizers go, I really like this one for a few reasons: - it's moisturizing - nice, natural scent using the perfect blend of essential oils. - dries quickly and is gentle on your hands. I prefer to always use wipes of any kind, but if I were to actually use a liquid in-between this is my favorite. #handsanitizer #essentialoils #moisturizinghandsanitizer #gentleonskin #sanitize #sanitizersmellsgood #makeup #makemup #makemu

    Before Microblading Eyebrows...

These little tubes of brow / hair color go on easily, quick-drying so they don't rub or smear. They are water and sweat resistant (can last up to 72 hours on the skin). They adhere to skin and hair, which is perfect for those with thinning or no brow hair. I use these with microblading and shading clients to help determine the color, style and shape before committing to microblading and shading their eyebrows. I also encourage clients to try it out for themselves to experi

    Working on Grey's Anatomy

I love it when I get to put my hurt on the actors.... I always enjoy it when we have scenes in the Emergency Room and we get to put our hurt on the actors. As Make-Up Artists we do everything from straight, beauty makeup-up but a variety of characters, injuries, prosthetics. When it comes to working on Grey's Anatomy we also work under the guidance of a Medical Advisor who makes sure that the injuries look as real as possible. Then when they are satisfied there's a lot of s

    Removing Make-up...

Well, this one really took me by surprise. I walked by dismissing this product numerous times just based on the name while shopping at Costco. One day while visiting a friend who has very sensitive skin as does her daughter, she told me about a washcloth removes all make-up with just water. Having her show me and talk about it got me interested, so my next trip to Costco I bought this little 7 Day Set and brought them home to try out for myself, first of all I loved the sm

    Ready for Action...

This is my station inside the Make-up Trailer on Grey's Anatomy, ready to put my hurt on some actors. The fun thing about working on this Medical Drama is that we get to do a wide range of make-up and make-up effects, always expect the unexpected. It's great to be creatively challenged every day. We use a variety of fake blood for fresh injuries to older injuries, when our medical advisor on the show calls for more blood on-set with our actors we follow her lead. In the mak
